Female Pattern Hair Loss In Arlington

Female Pattern Hair Loss In Arlington

Female pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is a condition that commonly affects women, typically thinning the hair at the top and crown of the head. Over time, as the hair continues to thin, the widening part line becomes more visible, revealing the extent of hair loss. This condition can gradually become more noticeable, which often causes distress or concern for those affected.

What Causes Female Hair Loss?

Female pattern hair loss occurs when hair follicles shrink and produce thinner, shorter strands of hair. Over time, some follicles may cease to produce hair altogether. The condition is largely driven by genetics, hormonal changes, and aging.

Male pattern baldness typically causes localized hair loss, like a receding hairline or thinning at the crown. In contrast, women usually experience diffuse thinning across the scalp, with no significant receding of the hairline.

Stages of Female Hair Loss

Female pattern hair loss is commonly evaluated using the Ludwig scale. At Stage 1, the thinning is minimal, and the scalp is barely visible when the hair is parted at the top.

Stage 2 involves more visible thinning, especially in the central region of the scalp, leading to increased exposure. Stage 3 is the most severe stage, with substantial thinning that affects the entire scalp. Another type of hair loss, called traction alopecia, is caused by tight hairstyles such as braids, leading to permanent hair loss around the edges if not managed properly.

Treatment For Female Pattern Hair Loss: Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) provides a cutting-edge, non-invasive solution for female pattern baldness. By implanting organic, plant-based pigments into the scalp, SMP mimics the appearance of natural hair follicles, offering immediate results with no downtime or recovery required.

At Zang SMP, we only use the highest quality pigments, designed to resemble natural hair follicles closely. This process effectively covers bald spots, simulates hair growth, and enhances your appearance, helping you regain confidence without the need for surgery or hair transplants.

The SMP procedure typically consists of two to three sessions. The first two sessions, spaced a week apart, target specific female hair loss patterns. A third session, if needed, is scheduled one to three months later to perfect the results and ensure a completely natural finish.

Would a Hair Transplant Treat Hair Loss?

In many cases of female and male pattern hair loss, hair transplants are not the most effective solution. Transplants rely on donor hair grafts, which may not be available when thinning affects the whole scalp.

Additionally, placing grafts into areas with existing hair may damage the natural follicles, which could hinder hair growth and result in even less hair than before.

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) provides a safe, long-lasting solution for female hair loss. It enhances the appearance of hair density immediately, without causing any damage to existing follicles. SMP requires no surgery, no recovery time, and delivers exceptional results.

At Zang SMP, we specialize in delivering the highest quality scalp micropigmentation treatments. Our team consists of highly trained practitioners who ensure a natural, life-changing result for every client.

“As a female, I didn't want to leave a public review in fear of someone I know seeing it - but at the same time, I want everyone to know about the amazingness that Zang SMP is!!! As someone who struggled with severe postpartum hair loss and a receding hair line, I really thought I would be a slave to hair powders and fillers for life (if not a transplant) and that has all changed!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience!! If you are female and hesitant to do this, DON'T BE!!! It will change your life!!! Huge thank you to Ridwan, Walter, and the rest of the guys at Zang!! Forever grateful!”

Laura

“These guys changed my life for the better. I have had alopecia for 10 years, wearing wigs and being generally uncomfortable. I was looking for a long-term solution to my alopecia and this was it. Ridwan is a delight to set things up with, and Walter has a real eye for the details. This is worth the money. A load has been lifted and I couldn’t be happier. My only regret is not coming here sooner!”

Alex

“Zang is THE most skilled and experienced SMP practitioner BY FAR. I have had multiple treatments with him to fill in the density in my hair and beard, and the results are amazing. People don't even believe I've had anything done until I show them my before/after pics. Zang is a great guy with an incredible attention to detail, and his work has restored my confidence big time. I really can't recommend him enough. 5 stars!”

William

“Just finished my 3rd session with Walter, best investment ever. I've tried everything short of a hair transplant over the past ten years and eventually stumbled upon SMP. I searched and researched the best SMP practitioners in the country and then decided to call the folks at Zang. Ridwan expertly walked me through the whole procedure and answered all of my questions. If you're comfortable with the buzz cut look, SMP is the only way to go. And the team at Zang SMP are the real deal, true artists.”

Rick

“I don't normally write reviews cause it's a waste of my time but I have to this time. Over the last 20 years, I've done 3 hair transplant procedures and I was not happy with the results. I started looking into SMP and call many places before I settled with ZangSMP. It's a bit more expensive but let me tell you, worth every pennies. After the 2nd time, everyone said there's no sign that I was ever bald. And what can I say about Walter. I couldn't thank him enough. He gave me the confident I needed and a new look in life. He's such a perfectionist and took the time to do it right and make sure I'm happy with the result. I even recommended my brother to give him a call.”

I had gone to a different smp place before but wasnt happy with results. Zang Smp gave me the results I was looking for. There a reason why they have 5 stars on their reviews! Highly recommend!”

FAQ’s about SMP for Female Pattern Hair Loss

What should I anticipate during the SMP treatment?

dropdown-arrow

Each session typically lasts between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of your situation. For most clients, the discomfort is less intense compared to a traditional tattoo. Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but your health and safety are our top priorities. Our Zang SMP practitioners will work to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

What will my head look like right after the treatment?

dropdown-arrow

You will notice a significant and immediate improvement in the density of your hair. Initially, the pigment will appear more intense, and there may be some slight redness in the treated area. The redness should fade within 2-3 days, while the pigment will mostly settle down within about a week.

How long does SMP last on the scalp?

dropdown-arrow

For most of our clients, we anticipate touch-ups around the 5-8 year mark. While this is a permanent procedure, it will gradually lighten over time due to natural wear and tear and the turnover of skin cells.

How many SMP treatments do I need for female pattern hair loss?

dropdown-arrow

It depends on the extent of your hair loss. For women with mild to moderate thinning, you can expect to have 2 treatments within about a week, with a possible 3rd session a few months later. For those with severe hair loss, 3 sessions will be necessary to achieve the desired results.

Will I need to take time off work or follow any aftercare guidelines?

dropdown-arrow

Our Scalp Micropigmentation is non-invasive and nonsurgical, requiring no downtime. You just need to adhere to the 4-day aftercare instructions, which include avoiding liquids on the scalp and avoiding any products in your hair. Many of our clients have their treatment, return home the same day, and are back at work the next day!

Will SMP look natural if I am adding density into my hairline?

dropdown-arrow

We will ensure your results look completely natural by designing a soft hairline with lower density at the front and greater density in the area behind it. At ZangSMP we effectively mimic the natural pattern of hair growth and create an undetectable result every time.

Will my SMP treatment still look natural if I dye my hair a different color?

dropdown-arrow

Typically, yes! SMP is a very versatile treatment and it tends to blend well with a variety of different hair colors once we have properly matched the pigment to your skin tone. The only exception would be if your hair is very dark at the time of treatment, and then you dye your hair extremely light (platinum blonde, white, etc.) at a later time.

Is SMP similar to microblading, or a hair tattoo?

dropdown-arrow

SMP is a unique permanent cosmetic method of hair restoration that is distinctly different from microblading or tattooing. Our SMP equipment and organic pigment is specially designed to create a natural appearance of follicles that blend with the hair on your head. Microblading tends not to be an appropriate method for the top of the head, because the texture of the scalp usually causes the strokes to spread over time and become large and blurry. Standard tattoo equipment is completely incapable of creating a natural result because the needle is too large to create small follicular deposits and the tattoo ink cannot match the natural color of your hair.

Does SMP turn blue or green, or become blurry in the long term?

dropdown-arrow

Never. Our technique is carefully engineered to avoid this issue, and we have case studies dating back 15 years to support it. Our pigments stay true to color over time, ensuring they always blend seamlessly with your hair. By depositing the pigments only two layers deep in the skin, we eliminate the risk of spreading or blurring.

If my hair turns gray after SMP, will it still look natural?

dropdown-arrow

Yes, it will always look natural! Since the pigment gradually fades over time, there will never be a mismatch between your SMP treatment and your hair color. We’ve had clients return for touch-ups after many years, even when their hair had turned gray since the original procedure. In these situations, we consistently find that the pigment has lightened and still appears natural. We then do a touch-up with a different shade of ink to match their new hair color, resulting in a full and completely natural look!

Are there any hair products that could damage my SMP treatment?

dropdown-arrow

No. Once the 4-day aftercare period is over, you can use whatever hair products or dyes you want as long as they do not cause irritation to your scalp. If your hair is thin enough to significantly expose your scalp, there is a risk that excessive sun exposure can cause your SMP to lighten faster than normal. For cases like these we recommend either spraying SPF 50+ sunscreen on your scalp or wearing a hat if you are going to be in the sun for many hours.

What is the cost of SMP?

dropdown-arrow

Cases of mild to moderate thinning (Ludwig 1-2) are $2400-$3400. More severe cases of hair loss (Ludwig 3) are $3400-$4200.
