Female Pattern Hair Loss Case Study
- Ludwig Scale: 2
- Hair Color: Black
- Skin Tone: Medium
Here we have a client in her late 20’s who presented with thin hair on top of her head. This was a hereditary condition which she had been suffering from for years. Female pattern hair loss can be difficult to treat for two reasons. Firstly, the root cause can be difficult to uncover, since there can be a wide variety of different factors that lead to hair thinning in women. Secondly, hair transplantation tends to be a less-than-ideal solution for women because the thinning tends to affect a large area of the head in these cases, and additionally a transplant will risk damaging the native hair during the surgical process.
This client was an ideal candidate for scalp micropigmentation, as it offered her the ability to restore massive amounts of density in her hair with no surgery required. We used dark pigment to match her natural hair color, and we created very high density throughout the entire top of her scalp. We blended the pigmentation seamlessly into the side areas of her hair, where she had normal hair density. This was to ensure the appearance of uniform density throughout her scalp regardless of how she styled her hair.
After three sessions, she had full results from her SMP treatments and was finally pleased with the appearance of her hair. She was so happy with her transformation, that she referred several of her family members who were also suffering from the same hereditary pattern of hair thinning! They too came in for treatment with us, and received similar results.
