Everything You Need to Know About Scalp Micropigmentation
Are you considering getting treatment done to deal with your hair loss? Scalp micropigmentation is one of these options. Read on to learn everything you need to know about scalp micropigmentation.
Hair loss isn’t fun. And while there are lots of options available to those experiencing hair loss and aren’t ready to embrace the change, some are more effective or more affordable than others.
If hair transplants aren’t your thing and you aren’t thrilled about the idea of wearing a wig or hairpiece, you might find the look of fuller hair with the help of scalp micropigmentation.
What Is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation is a modern method of using cosmetic pigmentation to inject, or tattoo, pigment into the scalp in a way that mimics the appearance of hair growth. This process takes patience and skill and should only be performed by someone trained in performing scalp micropigmentation techniques.
Using the latest tools, a computer-controlled system, and trained experts, clients will receive consistent, flawless results that look like real hair.
Some clients might request a simple evening-out of their hairline or to have gaps of hair loss “filled in” while others want to cover an entirely bald head with hair tattoo marks that look like freshly shaved hair.
How Does It Work?
An ink color will be created that perfectly matches your natural hair color. The ink is administered with a soft touch to create results that look natural and hair-like. In some spots, we will add a shade darker than your natural color to create the illusion of three-dimensional, real hair strands.
The marks and strokes are applied in much the same way as any other tattoo, but with hundreds, if not thousands, of small, fine strokes. This method will create the appearance of hair growth.
What Is The Treatment Process Like?
To achieve optimal results, you should expect to undergo at least 2-3 sessions. Your first appointment is a consultation in which you can discuss the look you want to achieve and if it’s reasonable. Our expert staff member will help guide you on a style that’s best suited to you and walk you through a plan of action.
Treatment begins with a conservative approach. It’s easier to start carefully and make sure the look is panning out well and then add to it rather than begin too strong and not be unable to do a look that doesn’t look natural.
Your scalp will be a little red after the treatment but will begin to turn to normal after a day.
During the second treatment, you’ll start to see your new look come together as we go into more detail and add a shade darker to what was created in your first session.
More often than not, only two sessions are needed to achieve the best look, but for some clients who want to go extra dark in spots, a third session is available.
