Best Scalp Micropigmentation in Keller (SMP)
FAQs
What is Scalp Micropigmentation or SMP?
Scalp Micropigmentation, or SMP, is a non-surgical, highly refined technique in which pigments are gently applied to the surface layer of the scalp to replicate the appearance of natural hair follicles. This procedure restores the visual density of thinning areas and creates the illusion of fuller hair. Many residents of Keller choose SMP to achieve a clean, buzzed look, enhance thinning hair, or supplement the results of previous hair transplants, producing realistic and long-lasting effects.
How many treatments do I need?
Typically, clients in Keller require a minimum of two sessions spaced roughly seven days apart. The initial session may fade slightly as the scalp heals, making the second session essential for pigment reinforcement and precise detail. In some cases, a third session within one to three months can further refine results for optimal appearance.
How long is each treatment?
SMP sessions usually take between two and four hours. The first appointment is the longest because it involves the design of a custom hairline and the application of foundational pigment. Later sessions are shorter, concentrating on pigment reinforcement and meticulous detail work.
Who decides on the construction of the hairline?
Designing the hairline in Keller is a collaborative process. Your SMP technician carefully considers facial structure, personal preferences, and hair restoration goals to create a natural and flattering hairline.
I've already had 3 treatments, now what?
After completing three SMP sessions, clients can enjoy their results while following the recommended aftercare instructions. Keller residents are offered a one-year warranty covering touch-ups if any fading occurs. Most clients do not require additional treatments for multiple years.
A "few years"? What does that mean exactly?
For most Keller clients, touch-ups are not necessary for a period of five to eight years. While SMP is designed to be long-lasting, pigment may gradually lighten due to sun exposure or natural skin aging.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Following SMP, clients should strictly adhere to aftercare guidelines. Avoid water contact, refrain from sweating excessively, and postpone haircuts for four days. Wearing hats and sleeping normally is permitted. Clients receive a complete PDF guide with detailed instructions.
So I don't need to take time off from work?
Correct. SMP is minimally invasive and does not require any downtime. Most Keller residents return to work or daily activities immediately. Proper adherence to aftercare ensures the best possible healing and long-term results.
Will people be able to tell I have the treatment done?
Immediately following treatment, pigment may appear darker and mild redness may be present. These effects generally subside within two to three days. Once healed, the pigment mimics natural hair follicles and is difficult for others to detect.
Does it hurt?
Most clients report that SMP is much less uncomfortable than traditional tattooing. Our team emphasizes comfort and ensures each session is easy, smooth, and stress-free.
Do I need to keep the shaved look?
During your consultation, our experts will evaluate your scalp and discuss your goals in order to create a treatment plan that fits your daily routine seamlessly. Clients in Keller with Norwood 6–7 hair loss generally need to keep a clean-shaven appearance because SMP does not grow naturally with surrounding hair and longer hair could produce inconsistent results.
Clients seeking density enhancement can have pigment applied into existing hair, which is ideal for thinning in the crown or frontal areas. This approach allows some hair length to be maintained while providing the appearance of fuller, denser hair.
Do you also do scar concealment?
Yes, SMP is very effective at concealing scars from prior FUE or FUT hair transplant procedures, as well as scars caused by trauma. Keller clients often report noticeable improvements in confidence after pigment is carefully applied to create a smooth, uniform scalp surface.
Do I need to cut my hair before the SMP treatment?
If the SMP procedure is intended for density enhancement or scar coverage, hair should remain at normal length. Clients categorized as Norwood 6–7 should shave prior to treatment and maintain this shaved style afterward to achieve consistent results.
What do I do for optimal maintenance?
During your consultation, we provide full guidance for maintaining SMP results. Keller clients receive individualized aftercare instructions that help maximize pigment longevity, and a complimentary consultation can provide a thorough maintenance plan tailored to the client’s needs.
Do I have something to worry about when I continue to shave my head?
Shaving does not affect SMP. It is part of normal scalp grooming, and we provide advice on appropriate shaving tools and scalp-care products. Keller clients may consult our product guide to maintain optimal pigment and scalp health.
Will it affect the treatment if I continue to shave my head?
No, regular shaving does not interfere with SMP. Pigments are placed in the upper layers of the scalp, so daily grooming or cleansing does not impact results. Many Keller clients maintain a shaved appearance without fading or irritation.
How much will the SMP treatment cost?
Pricing depends on treatment areas and individual client needs. Most clients undergo two sessions spaced one week apart, with an optional third session. Scar concealment is $800–$1,000 per session. Treatments for Norwood 2–4 are $2,400–$3,400, stages 5–7 are $3,400–$4,200, and full procedures including scars generally range from $4,200–$5,200.
How do I best protect my SMP from sunlight?
Clients should protect SMP from sunlight to preserve pigment vibrancy. Hats or high-quality sunscreen are recommended. Keller residents spending time outdoors should take extra care to prevent UV-related fading.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on treatment area and whether scars are included. Scar treatments are $800–$1,000 per session. Norwood 2–4 treatments cost $2,400–$3,400, stages 5–7 are $3,400–$4,200, and full procedures including scars generally cost $4,200–$5,200.
When are the payments due?
A $400 deposit reserves your appointment. Sessions usually have an eight-week lead time, and the remaining balance is split across the first two sessions. Flexible financing is available for Keller clients.

Just finished my 3rd session with Walter, best investment ever. I've tried everything short of a hair transplant over the past ten years and eventually stumbled upon SMP. I searched and researched the best SMP practitioners in the country and then decided to call the folks at Zang. Ridwan expertly walked me through the whole procedure and answered all of my questions.
If you're comfortable with the buzz cut look, SMP is the only way to go. And the team at Zang SMP are the real deal, true artists.

As a female, I didn't want to leave a public review in fear of someone I know seeing it - but at the same time, I want everyone to know about the amazingness that Zang SMP is!!! As someone who struggled with severe postpartum hair loss and a receding hair line, I really thought I would be a slave to hair powders and fillers for life (if not a transplant) and that has all changed!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience!! If you are female and hesitant to do this, DON'T BE!!! It will change your life!!! Huge thank you to Ridwan, Walter, and the rest of the guys at Zang!! Forever grateful!

I don't normally write reviews cause it's a waste of my time but I have to this time. Over the last 20 years, I've done 3 hair transplant procedures and I was not happy with the results. I started looking into SMP and call many places before I settled with ZangSMP. It's a bit more expensive but let me tell you, worth every pennies. After the 2nd time, everyone said there's no sign that I was ever bald. And what can I say about Walter. I couldn't thank him enough. He gave me the confident I needed and a new look in life. He's such a perfectionist and took the time to do it right and make sure I'm happy with the result. I even recommended my brother to give him a call.

Thank u so much Walter and Ridd for your excellent customer service and I can't be any happier with the results. Walter is truly a master of his craft and he was able to hide my scar very well. I had gone to a different smp place before but wasnt happy with results. Zang Smp gave me the results I was looking for. There a reason why they have 5 stars on their reviews! Highly recommend!

These guys changed my life for the better. I have had alopecia for 10 years, wearing wigs and being generally uncomfortable. I was looking for a long-term solution to my alopecia and this was it. Ridwan is a delight to set things up with, and Walter has a real eye for the details. This is worth the money. A load has been lifted and I couldn’t be happier. My only regret is not coming here sooner!

Zang is THE most skilled and experienced SMP practitioner BY FAR. I have had multiple treatments with him to fill in the density in my hair and beard, and the results are amazing. People don't even believe I've had anything done until I show them my before/after pics. Zang is a great guy with an incredible attention to detail, and his work has restored my confidence big time. I really can't recommend him enough. 5 stars!
