Repair for Botched SMP Case Study
- Hair Color: Black
- Skin Tone: Medium
Here we have Kevin, who had a history of an unsuccessful hair transplant and a botched hair tattoo treatment. His confidence had been shattered after he trusted an established doctor to perform an FUT strip transplant, which resulted in nothing but scars on his head. After this, his friend promised that he could use his tattoo skills to create a realistic appearance of hair on his head. Unfortunately, the tattoo turned out extremely green and blotchy, with an unnatural looking hairline shape that did not properly blend into his existing hair at all.
Kevin was in a situation that has become increasingly common over the years. Because the tattoo industry is relatively easy to enter, there are many new and inexperienced practitioners popping up and promising natural results that they can’t deliver on. An SMP practitioner must be highly experienced in order to create a proper result that looks like hair and not like ink. Kevin came to us in need of an extensive repair job, which we were able to perform with our advanced SMP techniques, with no laser required. We corrected the tone and excessive darkness of the bad tattoo that had previously been done, while blending new density with proper pigments around the area. We also created a new hairline that looked totally natural, and seamlessly blended the new density into his existing hair. After finishing the treatments, Kevin was thrilled to finally have a realistic full head of hair. At the end of his last session, we mentioned that he should tell his tattoo artist friend not to botch anyone else’s heads. Kevin agreed with our suggestion!
