Density Filler for Thin Hair

Here we have a client in his 50’s who had undergone previous hair transplant surgeries, and had exhausted his donor supply. He still had considerable thinning, but was no longer a candidate for any more transplants. He had been using hair fibers to make his hair look fuller, but this was a very messy and tedious routine every morning, and his look would be ruined whenever it rained outside or whenever he jumped into the pool. He wanted a permanent solution that would make his hair look fuller without having to put fibers on top of his head.

In cases where a client is not a candidate for any more hair transplants, SMP is the only remaining solution for permanently increasing the appearance of hair density. This client’s case was particularly delicate because of his hair color. Very few SMP providers are able to properly match the tone of reddish blond hair that has been grown out at full length. Many SMP providers are able to properly match the grayish tone of a shaved head, but longer hair requires both stronger pigment and different tones in order to create a dense result that blends properly with their hair. In cases of red hair, the tone mixture becomes very complicated. We have seen many cases in which clients like him have fallen victim to less-experienced providers, and ended up with bluish pigment tones on their scalp. Using our advanced techniques, we blended density throughout the entire top of his scalp over the course of three sessions. We made sure to go very softly at the front edge of the hairline in order to create a perfectly natural result. After all the treatments were done, the client ended up looking like he had twice as much hair on his head, and he threw away the hair fibers for good!
